Welcome to All About Quilting
located in Jacksonville, NC

When most people think about quilting, images of delicate grandmothers sipping tea while stitching in a rocking chair may come to mind.  This isn't the case in All About Quilting in Jacksonville.  She has a network of women that come together and form a support system, from young Marine wives all the way to the experienced quilter.

Kirsta started her craft over 30 years ago hand quilting while her husband was on recruiting duty in Minnesota for the Marine Corps as a way for her to cope with the long hours her husband spent at work.  From there, she took formal training to broaden her skill set and is now a certified instructor.  The Marine Corps has brought Kirsta and her family to Jacksonville where she started her store with the civil service retirement she earned as a government employee.

All About Quilting has been serving the area for over 20 years now and brings all of the essential supplies from top of the line sewing machines and notions to fabrics and threads, but what makes the store special is the network it provides.  Kirsta knows exactly what it is like for those married into the Marine Corps and how important it is to have a solid support system.  The socialization is great for spouses that find themselves in a new town with no relatives near by or friends around to rely on.

The classes at All About Quilting are a great way to get out and make new friends.  Are you completely clueless when it comes to quilting?  Kirsta Meadows teaches everyone from the very basic beginner to advanced levels.  She brings in local teachers for bags and other speciality types of classes - now also including ZOOM classes so you can stay in the comfort of your sewing room and learn lots of new and exciting things about quilting.
If you can't fit a class into your schedule, Kirsta can accommodate with one-on-one training as well.

Helping people with their experience in quilting isn't Kirsta's only focus at the store.  All About Quilting supports a variety of non-profits and special causes.  Kirsta and her quilters make caps for cancer patients, pillow cases for the local Pediatric Units at Camp Lejeune and Onslow Memorial,
lots of of sizes of quilts for boys and girls - birth to age 18 with the Child Advocacy Center (now called One Place) (www.onslowkids.org/CAC) and support Quilts of Valor (www.qovf.org), a foundation that makes quilts to send combat service members and veterans that have been touched by war.  The cause is specially important to Kirsta whose son was injured in 2004 while serving in combat operations.

Keep away the summertime blues by learning a new set of skills.  Even get the kids involved by helping pick out fabrics or designing a quilt.  Kirsta Meadows will be more than happy to get you started on your own crafting adventure.
